Bass Hathaway

Bass Hathaway is an award-winning film director, producer and editor with a passion for storytelling. Over his extensive career, he has developed skills in many departments, screenwriting, camera and sound to name a few. Hathaway came on board as a sound engineer, working during the recording and post-production stages, adding his storytelling experience to deliver the complete episodes and bring Iley and her late father’s stories to life.

A creative who has dabbled on and behind the scenes, Iley has organised chaos behind stages, trodden on the stage floorboards, directed in bizarre little rooms and won awards for her writing (not her handwriting…that’s a little messy). She loves to explore the worlds of humanity whether it be comedy or tragedy, fantasy or the raw truth, but even in the darkest of stories there’s a smile or a chuckle to be had somewhere. In 2023 she began the journey of compiling, editing and adding (when needed) to her father’s unpublished collection of radio plays. With over a hundred skits and episodes of series, she worked with family, cast and crew to carve the project into what it is today.

Mike Jones was a man of many talents, though didn’t see many of these talents published or presented publicly. From music to art, writing to design, Mike loved the arts and pursued each interest fervently, studying and exploring by trial and error. His love of comedy, primarily that of Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker, Spike Milligan and Buster Keaton is seen in the radio plays presented. His quick wit, love of both light and dark humour is thoroughly represented as well as his music under the name “The Slow Road South”. Though his life was cut short, his works now live on with the aim to bring a smile to your dial, or a gentle to loud chuckle, helping to get you home, away from the troubles of the world.
